No. NOFI/LV06/AK/02/9
26.05.2015. - 25.03.2016.
Total Project costs EUR 483 129

Objective of the Project - Within the project the company will establish new technological solutions to ensure more energy-efficient preparation of unsorted municipal waste for landfilling and separately collected sorted waste regeneration in order to increase volume of re-usable resource regain and to reduce energy consumption per unit of output.

The Activities – During project implementation it is planned to deliver and install new technological equipment for MSW pretreatment and manual sorting line for secondary raw materials. 2 new machines will be installed: MSW bag opener systemand baling press for sorted waste which will be integrated into company’s technological process of waste regeneration. This will result in expanding the operational capacity, increase of recycled secondary raw material assortment and volume, as well reduce consumption of primary energy resources.

Result of Project - Project implementation will reduced environmental impact of waste recycling process and will increase assortment and volume of recycled secondary raw materials.

Project financing sources – Norwegian Financial Mechanism EUR 153 495, Government Finance EUR 17 055. Own resources of the project applicant (ZAAO) EUR 312 579

The project "Modernization of the equipment of CSA "Daibe" waste recovery process" benefits from a EUR 153 495 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants and Norway Grants. "Green Industry innovation program" aim is to increaase competitiveness of green enterprises, including greening of existing industries, green innovation and green entrepreneurship.

About Project development

MSW landfill "Daibe" establishes 4 new manual sorting working stations

10/18/2015

October 16th, 2015 in MSW landfill "Daibe" recyclable material recycling station was put into operation 4 new manual sorting working stations. New working stations will provide resorting of source separated waste regrading process more efficient. Recovery of the greater volume of recyclable fractions will provides with 1 sorting process cycle, It will reduce time and energy consumption for 1 output production unit.

As a result of public procurement process equipment was supplied and installed by  "Jāņarāmis" Ltd. Total costs of equipment supply and installation were EUR 39 893 (excluding VAT). 40% of the eligible costs are financed from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. Closing of the project is planned in 2016 on 25 March.

The project "CSA" Daibe "Waste recovery process equipment modernization" is being implemented through a EUR 153,495 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norwegian Financial Mechanism programme "Innovation" green "production" to support innovative environmental technologies, services, product development and implementation”. “ZAAO” puts into operation a new recyclable material baling press

11/23/2015

On November 10th 2015, in MSW landfill "Daibe" recyclable material recycling station a new waste sorted baling press RIKO EKOS S-60KVA was put into operation. New baling press is important improvement in waste recovery technological process. It will ensure uninterrupted and energy efficient waste sorting process.

Compared to the equipment used so far, the new baling press will provide greater compression capacity with bigger specific pressing pressure and a lower relative power and oil consumption.

As a result of public procurement the equipment was supplied and installed by SIA "ECOTECHNO". Total costs of equipment supply and installation was
EUR 205 279.50 (excluding VAT). 40% of the eligible project costs are financed from the Norwegian Financial Instrument. Implementation of the project will continue. Closing of the project is planned in 2016 on 25 March.
